Wayne State Orientation Tours

We're so glad that you've attended your virtual Orientation Part 1 program to connect with our Orientation Team, your advising team and to register for classes!

Now that you've learned a bit about Wayne State, we invite you to take part in a few opportunities to tour the community you're joining. We have several ways to engage with the Wayne State physical campus and the surrounding community (virtually!).

Orientation+ On-Campus Experience

We are thrilled to be able to show you around campus with focused stops at the Undergraduate Library, Student Center and more! This all-outdoor experience is limited to those who have attended orientation. Schedule this session by clicking on the calendar date below, that falls under the headline UNITED STATES - MICHIGAN.

When you make your reservation to tour on-campus, you will be asked to log in. Use the log in information you created when you submitted your application to Wayne State to reserve your orientation experience. This is most likely your personal email account coupled with a password that you created. DO NOT use your Academica account credentials to log in - it won't work.

Detroit Virtual Tour Experience

On this virtual tour, your expert guide from the Detroit Experience Factory will provide insights and put things in context as they take you around the city and throughout the decades in order to help locals understand how Detroit’s history shaped where we are today, connect with what’s happening now and be inspired to take an active role in creating the city’s future.

Tour Discussion Points: ● Brief History of Detroit ● Overview of Detroit larger assets including parks, museums, theaters, sports, etc. with an emphasis on Midtown and New Center neighborhoods ● Discussion of Detroit’s challenges including population loss and blight ● Highlights of neighborhood initiatives and stories outside of the Downtown core ● Importance of small businesses including a few shout outs and story highlights
